> **Current Home film:** boiling opens the film; the approved Green ammonia → AND → Nuclear Reactor Research sequence closes it. The former standalone fission opener is no longer shown. See [ending scope](HOME_ENDING.md) for the illustrative kinetics and visual limits. The other scientific model notes below are unchanged. # Home Director / scientific and visual review Release: 8 September 2026. Home is an original vector **research film**, not simulated experimental data. The interactive Projects retain their own models and provenance. No typeface file is downloaded or redistributed: the HOLLYWOOD SVG is original sign-inspired lettering, not a claim to the official sign's exact typeface or endorsement. ## Film: what each shot means 1. **Fission.** Neutron absorption creates excited U-236. One illustrative balanced channel is U-235 + n → Ba-141 + Kr-92 + 3n + energy. Mass number 236 and charge number 92 are conserved. Actual fission has many product channels and neutron multiplicities; three is not universal. Fragment motion represents the dominant initial energy release; the ring is an energy cue, not a literal blast wave in the nucleus. Particle counts, sizes and timing are pictorial. 2. **Making catalyst electrode.** Pt/C catalyst ink lands on a gas-diffusion substrate while the XY bed rasters beneath a fixed nozzle. The flat top-view bed and its scan trajectory use one coordinate system. The nuclear-to-materials match-cut explicitly changes research domain: radioactive fission products are not the material deposited by ATLAS. Typical target 0.30 mg Pt/cm² on 25 cm² = 7.5 mg Pt; demonstrated 0.60 mg Pt/cm² = 15 mg. Neither is a loading limit or a replacement for measured performance data. 3. **PEM assembly and operation.** Flow-field plates, porous GDLs, thin catalyst layers and membrane have different widths/textures and persistent names. Thicknesses are exaggerated. The seven-layer teaching section omits peripheral gaskets and some microporous/cooling sublayers; it is not a complete bill of materials. H₂ feeds the anode, oxygen in air feeds the cathode. H⁺ crosses the membrane; electrons go through the external circuit and load. Half reactions are H₂ → 2H⁺ + 2e⁻ and ½O₂ + 2H⁺ + 2e⁻ → H₂O. Heat waves are qualitative; the labeled cooling loop prevents an implication that all waste heat is radiated. Product water can be liquid and/or vapor. Larger O₂ icons aid identification, not a calibrated diameter comparison. 4. **Cruise.** The same nested cell is drawn inside the same stack and ship coordinate system throughout the camera pullback. LOD suppresses illegible sub-pixel detail but does not substitute unrelated objects. The reference ship is **Oasis of the Seas**, shown as the paper's **proposed hydrogen retrofit**, not a deployed zero-emission vessel. The route names follow Table 5; its drawing is schematic, not a navigable chart. Camera scale is not a vessel construction drawing. 5. **Miami Vice / FCV Vanguard.** The displayed vessel is FCV Vanguard, the subject of the user's coauthored paper; “Miami Vice Paper” is the portfolio title. Twin FC modules, compressed-H₂ tank, battery, DC bus and electric motor reflect the source topology. The overtake is cinematic, not measured speed, a claimed joint voyage or actual positioning telemetry. Hydrogen links this domain to green ammonia; the boat tank is not physically supplying the ammonia facility. 6. **Green ammonia.** Separate wind and solar electrical connections feed the process. Electrolysis uses electricity and water to make H₂ and O₂. Nitrogen is separated from air, not made from the oxygen stream. Synthesis is N₂ + 3H₂ ⇌ 2NH₃; a compressor and synthesis vessel are shown. The simplified drawing omits detailed recycle, purification, heat integration and controls; no reaction yield, commercial cost or zero lifecycle emissions are asserted by the film. 7. **Boiling.** Camera travel into the electrolyzer's water-inlet stream provides a match-cut into a **separate boiling experiment**. Electrolysis is an electrochemical water-splitting process, not boiling. The final shot illustrates nucleation, growth, departure, coalescence and local dry patches. It is not a CFD solution, a measured critical heat flux or an electrolyzer operating regime. The relationship to the user's research with Professor Yoonjin Won is identified. ## Source-grounded quantitative checks - **Cruise paper**: Gil-Esmendia et al., *JMSE* 14(5), 431 (2026), https://doi.org/10.3390/jmse14050431. Source PDF `jmse-14-00431.pdf` inspected, including Figure 1, §§2.2, 2.4.4, 2.5–2.8, Eq.13–17, Table4–5 and Figure6. - §2.4.4 states **76.1 MW net installed electrical output** after parasitics. The old active browser code incorrectly capped gross at 76.1 and then multiplied by 0.97. This release fixes the net cap; the retained 97% conversion is a browser assumption, not an independently validated paper parameter. - Eq.13: catalytic residual-hydrogen heat uses HHV × 0.95, capped at 4 MW following §2.2. Exhaust sensible-heat recovery and residual anode-fuel combustion remain distinct. Anode/cathode exhaust detail follows text where Figure1 compresses the paths. - Eq.17: 0.7 kg/s × 3.07 MJ/kg × 0.70 = **1.5043 MW** cold recovery. Cold duty is not added to the chemical-energy conservation ledger. - 45 GJ = 12.5 MWh; 24 MW ideal discharge = 1,875 s = 31.25 min. The 45 GJ prose and user instruction govern; Table4's 45,000 kJ is inconsistent. Do not infer a new tank volume or phase-change material behavior from that table. - Table5 legs sum to 1,562 NM and 98.5 sailing hours. Diagram route and active voyage use these published legs, but hotel demand and interpolation between source power/speed points are assumptions, not actual ship telemetry. - **Vanguard paper**: Flores et al., *IJHE* 260, 156680 (2026), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijhydene.2026.156680. User's author proof `HE156680_proof-redline_v8_acrobat_comments.pdf`, Figure1–2, Table1 and §§2.1–2.4 inspected. - 9.7 kg at 700 bar; 23 kWh battery; 250 kW propulsion. Source table lists 90 kW FC modules; prose distinguishes 85 kW automotive rating and marine operation up to 100 kW. The browser uses manual 0/off or 30–100 kW, not a new measured efficiency map or the real staged controller. - Pure-function checks verify demand-dependent energy sharing, tank use, 10–90% battery window, and zero/full inventory states. Converter/motor losses, battery power limit and editable FC efficiency remain explicit assumptions. - **ATLAS:** source poster-derived curves and interpolation remain byte-for-byte unchanged. Target loading arithmetic is separate from those data. Curve values cannot be relabeled as results at a different loading. - **Reactor:** point kinetics, rod lag and precursor populations are teaching models, not a licensed plant-control simulation. Thermal power is not electrical output. Household equivalents are hypothetical and cannot validate real electricity generation. - **Boiling:** the existing constant-property correlation demonstration remains unchanged. The animation is not a test of that correlation against independent measurements across fluid/geometry ranges. - **Ammonia profiles:** explicitly synthetic location profiles, pending the user's measured data. No literature-validation claim is made for those hourly time series. ## Independent references for the qualitative film - U.S. Department of Energy, *Parts of a Fuel Cell*: https://www.energy.gov/cmei/fuels/parts-fuel-cell (membrane, catalyst, GDL, plate and gasket roles). - U.S. Department of Energy, *Hydrogen Production: Electrolysis*: https://www.energy.gov/cmei/fuels/hydrogen-production-electrolysis (water splitting, half reactions and renewable electricity). - U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, *Uranium*: https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/basic-ref/glossary/uranium (Z=92, fissile U-235). - Shimada et al., *Dependence of total kinetic energy of fission fragments on excitation energy of fissioning systems* (2021), https://arxiv.org/abs/2111.08278 (fragment kinetic energy; the film does not assign measured energy to an individual channel). - IRENA / Ammonia Energy Association, *The role of Renewable Ammonia in the Energy Transition* (2022): https://www.irena.org/Events/2022/May/The-role-of-Renewable-Ammonia-in-the-Energy-Transition. ## What testing does—and does not—establish `tools/qa_home_science.cjs` compares independent source fixtures, conservation, finite inventories, input bounds, reaction stoichiometry and continuous camera boundary geometry. `tools/qa_home_film.py` checks live controls, type/label overlap, responsive layout, reduced motion, source assets and chapter rendering. Existing project-regression suites remain in place. These establish consistency and the cited benchmarks, **not** independent validation of every off-design output against the papers' complete solvers or experimental datasets. Matching an energy balance alone cannot establish model accuracy. Calibrated parameter sets and underlying time-series measurements are required for that stronger claim.
